Surgical Care Without Leaving the 30A

Wisdom teeth, gum grafting, and PRP-supported healing in one familiar office

Oral surgery sounds intimidating, but it does not have to feel that way. At Cook Family Dentistry, we handle the most common surgical needs in our Santa Rosa Beach office, so you do not have to travel to a separate specialist for routine procedures. That includes wisdom teeth removal, gum grafting for receding gums, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to support faster, more comfortable healing.

Dr. Cook is implant- and grafting-trained, and we use CBCT 3D imaging to map nerves and anatomy before any surgical procedure. Combined with oral sedation, nitrous oxide, and the familiar setting of your regular dental home, that usually means a smoother experience than patients expect.

Why Our Patients Prefer In-Office Oral Surgery

Familiar Office, Comfortable Care

What makes Cook Family Dentistry oral surgery different

Familiar Office, Familiar Team

You see the same dentist and team you trust for cleanings, so the day of surgery is far less stressful.

Sedation Options

Oral sedation and nitrous oxide are available to keep you calm and comfortable throughout the procedure.

3D CBCT Planning

Cone-beam imaging maps nerves, sinuses, and bone before we touch anything, so surgical risk is minimized.

PRP for Faster Healing

Platelet-rich plasma drawn from your own blood can support faster, more comfortable healing after surgery.

Common Questions About Oral Surgery

Do I need to be referred to a separate surgeon?

Not for the procedures we offer. Wisdom teeth removal, gum grafting, and PRP-supported healing can all be handled in our Santa Rosa Beach office. For complex or full-bony impacted cases, we may refer you to a trusted oral surgeon.

Will I be put to sleep?

For most procedures we use local anesthesia with optional oral sedation or nitrous oxide. You will be awake but very relaxed and comfortable. IV sedation and general anesthesia are not performed in our office.

How long is recovery?

It depends on the procedure. A simple gum graft is often back to normal in a few days. Wisdom teeth removal typically involves three to seven days of mild swelling and soreness. PRP can shorten and smooth that timeline.

Is PRP safe?

Yes. PRP is created from a small sample of your own blood, spun down to concentrate platelets and growth factors. Because it comes from you, there is no risk of immune reaction.

What if I am very anxious about surgery?

Tell us. Sedation, music, blankets, breaks, and a thorough walk-through of what will happen all help. Many of our most anxious patients have told us afterward that the procedure was far easier than they expected.
