Lower Radiation
Digital x-rays use a fraction of the radiation of traditional film, with sharper images on screen instantly.

Modern Tools for Precise, Comfortable Care
Lower-radiation imaging, no-mold scans, and same-visit dentistry
Modern dental technology can shorten visits, improve diagnosis, and make treatment dramatically more comfortable. At Cook Family Dentistry, we invest in tools that genuinely change the patient experience, not just buzzwords. Our office uses CBCT 3D cone-beam imaging for implant and surgical planning, Primescan digital scanners that replace messy impression material, and intra-oral cameras that show you exactly what we see.
The result is fewer appointments, less radiation, no goopy molds, and a clearer understanding of your own mouth. When something needs treatment, our same-day CEREC system can design and place a crown in a single visit. The goal of every piece of equipment in our office is the same: precise care, delivered comfortably.
The practical patient benefits of a modern office
Digital x-rays use a fraction of the radiation of traditional film, with sharper images on screen instantly.
Primescan digital impressions replace gooey trays with a quick wand-style scan of your teeth.
Our CBCT scanner produces a 3D model of your jaw, so implants and surgery are planned precisely before we begin.
Intra-oral cameras show you the same close-up view of your teeth that we use to make recommendations.

Learn moreYes. Digital x-rays and CBCT scans use significantly lower radiation than older film systems. We follow the ALARA principle (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) so you only get the images that change your care.
CBCT stands for cone-beam computed tomography. It produces a detailed 3D model of your teeth, jaw, sinuses, and nerves in seconds, which is essential for safe implant placement, surgical planning, and complex restorative cases.
Primescan is a digital scanner that captures a precise 3D image of your teeth using a small wand. It replaces traditional putty-style impressions, which most patients find uncomfortable. Scans are faster, more accurate, and far more pleasant.
An intra-oral camera is a small pen-shaped camera that gives a close-up view inside your mouth. We use it to show you what we see, like a cracked filling or early gum issue, so recommendations are transparent.
Not necessarily. Many tech-driven visits actually cost less because they replace multiple appointments with a single one (for example, a same-day CEREC crown). Where there is a fee, we explain it upfront.
